Neuropsychiatric Symptoms as Predictors of Diagnostic Conversion or Reversion

   Proposal Description:
   The goal of the proposed study is to identify psychiatric presentations that      contribute to either the stability or instability of clinical diagnoses           (normal, MCI, dementia) over time. Investigators have examined predictors of      conversion to a new diagnostic category or reversion to a prior category based    on demographic features, functional abilities, comorbidities, etc.  Our aim is    to determine whether there are psychiatric features that distinguish those at     risk for conversion vs. reversion.  We plan to use the data collected on the      Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire to derive profiles of converters vs.     reverters. By doing so, we anticipate that this information will be useful to     clinicians who counsel and treat patients.
